Clay suggested putting them into the website. The consensus was to do that. Spence said programming is going fine. As to suggestions, Callison reminded him we need a speaker for Black History month. For a March program, Booth suggested getting the co-chair of the citizen’s police oversight committee, Jeff Williams, to speak. Fugit can get information on the caucus process and either she or someone else could give a program on that. Booth devised a letterhead, but it has no address. Schmidt said to put our PO Box on. We can put the current President’s phone number on it. She can send it to us as a word document so we can use it. If we e-mail it, it needs to be an attachment. Should we allow those who haven’t yet officially filed as candidates to speak? The deadline is in March. If we already have done it, should we continue? The consensus was there should be no further scheduling of speakers until they’ve filed. Those already scheduled can speak. Callison and Fugit will get together to write those who have not yet paid their dues. This month, the central committee will mail or e-mail to about 1300 names for the chili supper. Muleskinners has about 600 names. Schmidt passed out an annual treasurer’s report. The figures for 2007 are as follows: 2007 income: $12,416.00 2007 expenditures: $12,251.14 Bank Balance 12-31-07: $3342.94 Awards Account balance 12-15-07: $1264.80 Revenues: Dues: $2907.00 Lunches: $9509.50 Expenditures: Newsletter printing: $950.00 Lunches: $8368.50 Postage: $1560.00 Advertising: $975.00 CATV: $187.64 Lectern, Microphone and Screen: $210.00 In order to spend for general necessary expenses, we need about $12,000. We might cut out newspaper ads. Callison moved we stop running paid ads, Booth seconded. The motion carried. Booth moved we remove CATV from the budget, Spence seconded. Callison tabled that until we learn if it will continue and if we find someone to run it. With the freed up money, it could be put in a discretionary fund. Discussion about facilities for meetings was tabled.6291 reads
