A chance for you to help with Flood Relief! Mid Missouri Barack Obama Supporters are coordinating with United Way to send volunteers to designated areas to help with their efforts. Our Mid-Missouri contingent has been asked to head to Winfield, Missouri in Lincoln County (about 2 hours away). We will help with sandbagging in Winfield tomorrow and on Sunday. Our Carpools will be leaving on Friday June 20th at 9:00 a.m. and again on Sunday June 22nd at 10:30 a.m. Meet / Depart from 1516 Rosemary Ave., Columbia MO To organize a carpool email the new Obama for America Regional Field Director Rachel Levine, rlevine@barackobama.com with your name and the best phone # to reach you. Information from the Winfield Website about the efforts : "Citizens interested in filling sandbags need to check-in at the Command Center at the Winfield High School, 3920 East Highway 47 Winfield Missouri. After pulling into the drive park to the right in the gravel area, wear appropriate clothing, shovels, sun block. Sandbagging efforts are running 24 hours a day until further notice."( www.wffpd.org)
