Bob Pund declares his candidacy as a Democrat for the 25th Missouri House seat Columbia- Health care advocate Bob Pund is announcing his candidacy Monday, March 17, at 10 A.M., Stotler Lounge, Memorial Union, University of Missouri. Pund, 39, works as a legislative advocate in the capital for Disabled Citizens Alliance for Independence where he advocates for patients rights, access to education and health care issues. Pund has professional experience as an educator and counselor to patients in order to improve outcomes for patients once they leave the hospital. In May of 1989, while Pund was a college student at MSU, he was involved in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. Despite tremendous adversity, Pund went on to earn a degree in political science from the University of Missouri in 1994. Since graduation Pund has worked as a peer counselor, assistant editor at MOMSCIS and now as a legislative advocate. He has earned statewide honors as advocate of the year at Paraquad and SIL. He has a diverse background in community service, education and patient advocacy.
